Program Overview

The Postgraduate Program in Dentistry at the School of Dentistry of Pernambuco at the University of Pernambuco (PPGO FOP/UPE) is one of the oldest in Brazil. It began its activities with the Master’s program in 1972 and the Ph.D. program in 1986. Over more than five decades, the program has trained over 800 master’s and doctoral graduates, establishing itself as one of the country’s leading academic training centers in Dentistry.

In addition to its strong regional and national presence, PPGO FOP/UPE has also trained professionals who are currently working in various countries, including Chile, Honduras, Venezuela, and the United States, thus expanding its international impact.

The primary mission of PPGO FOP/UPE is to train highly qualified human resources for teaching, research, and professional practice in health. The program prepares professors, researchers, and professionals to work with technical and scientific excellence, incorporating innovative practices and advanced technologies aimed at improving the population’s quality of life.

The program is open to international candidates, both through its annual selection calls (usually published at the end of the year and announced on this website and our official social media) and through participation in institutional international cooperation programs, such as the GCUB Program, offered by the university itself.
