Abstract:
This work aims to provide information and propose an analysis criterion through the comparison between performance ratio and deployment factors of different photovoltaic systems technologies, in order to assist decision-making regarding the choice of the most suitable system for each mesoregion in Pernambuco. Pernambuco was chosen because it is an extremely favorable region for photovoltaic energy generation and because it has mesoregions with different characteristics that will greatly contribute to the research. The performance ratio was chosen as a relevant variable because it seeks to assess system losses not only based on cell efficiency but also on losses related to installation method and site-specific peculiarities. Deployment factors were defined considering economic aspects, based on the type of PV technology used, in which the following parameters were established: total area occupied by each system, cost of photovoltaic modules, market supply availability, and equipment lifespan. Regarding the applied methodology, a quantitative approach was adopted for data exploration and a qualitative analysis of results, through procedures such as data collection, tabulation, construction of technology rankings in each mesoregion, and technical analysis of results. According to the criteria used in this research, it was possible to observe that silicon-based mono and polycrystalline technologies achieved the best results, with particular emphasis on monocrystalline technology (m-Si), which, even though it did not achieve the best performance rate in some mesoregions, demonstrated to be the technology with the most advantageous deployment. Finally, it was possible to define parameters indicating which system is most suitable for each mesoregion, considering both the technical aspects of each technology and the economic deployment factors of each.
