INTRODUCTION
The Graduate Program in Teacher Training and Interdisciplinary Practices (PPGFPPI -Programa de Pós-Graduação em Formação de Professores e Práticas Interdisciplinares) in the area of Education, a Professional modality of the Universidade de Pernambuco, is located in the municipality of Petrolina - PE, in the northeastern semiarid region.
This program was approved in 2014 and began operating in 2015 at the Master's level, as a result of the need for continuing training demanded by the institution itself. The program offers 7 (seven) teacher training courses, namely: Biological Sciences, Geography, History, Mathematics, Languages with a focus on Portuguese and Spanish, and Languages with a focus on Portuguese and English.
In this sense, the commitment to education, especially public education, led to the establishment and approval of the professional doctorate in 2023, to contribute even more to human, scientific, social, cultural and technological development, with significant impacts on the economy in Petrolina, the surrounding region and Brazil as a whole.
MISSION
To train professional researchers in Education capable of understanding everyday processes, of intervening in the planning and development of interdisciplinary programs, projects and actions, and in the generation and dissemination of innovative knowledge with the potential to operate in school and non-school spaces.
OBJECTIVE
To train education professionals - teachers, researchers, social educators - with a solid epistemic and methodological basis, aiming at the construction, innovation and expansion of interdisciplinary practices to conduct socially relevant research, as well as actions and activities inherent to professional practice.
